Hello to Bodega 1977 Atheneum

This novel for young adults, set in northern California,
tells the story of a young man returned from the
Vietnam War. Gil and his girl friend Joanna, while
restoring an old ranch, take in transient youths who
must agree to live by Gil’s no-drug code. The so-called
commune attracts violence from some ranchers but,
thanks to a sympathetic rancher, Gil and Joanna
and their ranch survive.
